Marni Prisma, the project that took the celebrations of the brand’s twentieth anniversary around the world, is the inspiration from which the boutique’s design has been developed. The intention is to bring together different shapes, materials and atmospheres in a harmonious way. The many facets of a prism that relate different aspects of a single and varied identity.
The boutique is spread over 310 square metres, divided between two floors. The entrance leads into a geometric space, imagined as a “box”, which opens upward, tilting the sides and splitting them at the intersection. The eye is immediately caught by the impressive stairway to the floor below. An important structural element, whose concrete slatted parapet is enclosed and lightened by a glass balustrade.
Increasingly important are the accessories, to which the wall opposite the entrance is dedicated. Shoes are on display on canvas surfaces in niches cut into the wall, in a lounge decorated with handmade carpets and white pony leather sofas.
The colours and materials play on sharp contrasts: the concrete floor is a good match for the white walls, giving emphasis to the colours of the marble inserts, the carpets made up of multi-coloured rectangles and the blues and greens of the lacquered brass furnishings. Mirrors become structural and architectural elements, detached from the wall and placed between the ceiling and the floor.
Downstairs, Marni has reserved a large space for menswear, as well as two other areas for women’s collections, linked by an environment that opens onto an indoor garden.
Recycled building materials have been used to build the frames that make up the wall dedicated to bijoux, in a dynamic setting that will change configuration over time.
In the corridor stand three large geometrical shapes in black marble: the summary of a coexistence of curved lines and right angles, emphasised by the large Barrisol stretched ceilings that feature on both levels.
The iconic steel rails, with harmonious organic forms, run along the walls of the upper and lower floors, in continuity with the past in a completely new space, the witness of an evolutionary path in style and expression.
